ECB awaits further data We expect the ECB Governing Council to signal a wait-and-see attitude next week and leave interest rates unchanged. The ECB's medium-term inflation target of 2% is within reach and, if inflation develops as expected, should be reached in the second half of 2025. We do not expect the next interest rate cut of 25 basis points until September, when new data sets on price trends and ECB staff projections on the development of the economy and inflation will be available. |
