ECB will not cut interest rates until June The ECB Governing Council will meet next week to decide on future monetary policy. Although there are signs that the key interest rates will be lowered, the statements made by the majority of members in recent weeks suggest that this step will not be taken until the June meeting. This means that there will at best be changes in communication at the upcoming meeting. Individual formulations both in the press release and in President Lagarde's subsequent press conference could indicate that interest rates will soon be cut. |
