Global interest rate landscape starts to move There has been movement in the global interest rate landscape this week. The Japanese central bank has slightly raised its corridor for short-term interest rates from -0.1-0.0% to 0.0-0.1%. In contrast, the Swiss central bank cut its key interest rate by 0.25 percentage points to 1.5% this week, which came as a surprise to the markets. The easing of monetary policy was possible because the fight against inflation has been effective over the last two and a half years. On March 13, the ECB presented its revised monetary policy framework. This brought a year-long internal discussion process to a conclusion. The measures adopted serve as preparation for the normalization of the liquidity supply to the financial system. |
