Slight spread pressure on the corporate bond market The secondary market for corporate bonds felt a slight spread pressure from the brisk issuing activity on the primary market. The issue volume in April was a third above the 5-year average. HY issuers were once again particularly active. Spreads widened across all rating categories on the corporate bond market compared to the previous week, ending the slight narrowing trend of recent weeks for the time being. The reporting season in Europe is in full swing. The 1Q earnings performance has so far been a positive surprise overall. |
