Rising demand for housing loans from AT banks The results of the survey on the lending business of Austrian banks show the first signs of a recovery in demand for private housing loans. The picture is far less rosy in the area of credit demand from Austrian companies, which fell again in the first quarter. The conditions for refinancing via medium- to long-term bonds issued by banks have become less favorable almost across the board since 2022. Nevertheless, we were able to look back on record issue volumes in Austria in 2022 and 2023, particularly in the covered bond segment.
