Growth only slightly positive in 2024 Last week, both WIFO and IHS revised their GDP forecasts for 2024 and 2025. Both institutes pointed to the uncertainty among market participants, which is reflected in a reluctance to consume and invest. Our leading indicators do not show a sustainable economic recovery either. Together with the subdued growth figures for the first quarter, this has also led us to revise our GDP forecast. We now only expect growth of +0.2% for 2024, while our GDP forecast for 2025 remains unchanged at +1.5%. |
