Eurozone and US surprise differently The Eurozone and the US recently published the first estimates for GDP growth in Q1. The US reported marginally higher growth. However, the original expectation had been that the gap would be significantly higher. The Eurozone surprised positively with its growth figures, while the US figures were well below expectations. Even though there is still considerable uncertainty, we believe that the economy in the Eurozone is increasingly gaining momentum, while the US economy is likely to cool down. |
