French snap elections make markets nervous France is in the spotlight due to the upcoming elections, triggered by the success of Marine Le Pen's party (Rassemblement National) in the European parliamentary elections, in conjunction with an excessive deficit procedure initiated by the European Commission. The financial markets have reacted to the snap elections in France with a general widening of risk premiums. Securities from French issuers were particularly, but not exclusively, affected by this. |
