Commercial real estate once again in ECB’s focus In the ongoing reporting season for 4Q 2023, EUR STOXX 600 companies have surprised slightly positively at an aggregated level. The real estate sector remains a problem child. The ECB is calling on banks with commercial real estate loans to carry out effective risk management and transparent credit analysis. Otherwise, they must expect higher capital requirements. Germany is particularly exposed due to the strong fall in prices and the high level of outstanding loans.
