PKO Bank Polski

PKO Bank Polski (PKO BP) positions itself as a universal bank with a business focus on retail banking in its Polish home market. There it is market leader and with total assets of around PLN 422bn (EUR 91bn).

In the 2021 financial year, the group result of PBO BP increased significantly to PLN 4.9bn from a loss (PLN -2.6bn) in the previous year. The main reason for the sharp increase in net income was the drop in net write-downs and impairments.

The bank has a number of capital market instruments outstanding and issues bonds on both the Polish and international capital markets. Covered bonds issued through its subsidiary PKO Bank Hipoteczny are rated by Moody's at 'Aa1'.
