Markets Expect Additional ECB Support Prospects for the imminent availability of a vaccine continue to generate bullish sentiment in financial markets. However, the generous provision of central bank liquidity is just as important for underpinning financial markets. A further easing of monetary policy is expected during the ECB meeting on 10 December in light of continued high contagion levels. The Pandemic Emergency Purchase Program (PEPP) will probably be extended beyond the current deadline of 30 June 2021. An extension of the provision of low-cost refinancing (TLTRO3) beyond the current deadline of March 2021 is likely as well. Special topic of the week |
