Stock market recovery The recovery of the global stock market index continued last week. The S&P 500 index also rose sharply and volatility fell significantly in the last two weeks. This is a positive development. From a technical perspective, a slight uptrend is now emerging again in the US. For 1Q the S&P 500 is currently expected to post +10.7% (y/y) revenue growth and +4.8% (y/y) earnings growth. Over the past three months, the outlook for net profit margins has improved only for the energy and utilities sectors. Profit margin forecasts are unchanged for the Technology and Health Care sectors, and consensus margin forecasts have worsened for the remaining sectors. Rating changes: AMD, Hershey, Vertex, Costco Wholesale, Home Depot, Adobe, Estee Lauder, Verizon. |
