US Fed waits As had been widely expected, the interest rate-setting body of the US Fed (FOMC) decided to leave key interest rates unchanged. The statement was, with the exception of a few passages, identical to the one issued after the July meeting and thus did not provide any information on the further course of action. The new survey of meeting participants on the development of the key macro variables provided some clues, but no clear indications. In our view, the overall outcome of the upcoming FOMC meetings remains very uncertain. |
