2021 – after the annus horribilis Even though the COVID-19 containment measures are currently stifling large parts of the European economy, the outlook for 2021 is significantly better than 2020 turned out. 2021 should become the year of recovery. On the credit markets, spreads continued their narrowing trend at the beginning of the year across almost all broad rating categories. The high primary market supply with an abundance of issues at the beginning of the year is being neutralised by the central banks. However, the tough and in some cases extended COVID-19 containment measures are still weighing heavy on some service sectors, many of which are not yet past the worst. Special topics of the week: |
