Week Ahead | Podemos frighten financial markets

In Spain the Social Democrats have signed a provisional coalition agreement this week with Podemos, a left-wing citizens' movement. Due to Podemos' extreme political positions, the general risk appetite for peripheral Eurozone government bonds has slackened. In view of these political developments, further moderate increases in risk premiums for Spanish government bonds in the coming weeks are possible.

After some political uncertainty factors have calmed down somewhat in recent weeks, industrial sentiment in the Eurozone should also brighten s in November. Due to the profound structural problems of the automotive sector and the unresolved Brexit issue, however, we expect only a subdued recovery of the Eurozone industrial sector in the coming months.
