How competitive is Europe? Next week (Sept. 23), a first estimate of PMI data in September will be published for the Eurozone. Due to the lack of impetus from the global economy, we do not expect sentiment to brighten in September. However, the robust level of sentiment among service providers should stabilize. Accordingly, service providers should remain the mainstay of the economy in the coming months. Even if we expect the economic picture to brighten somewhat in 2025, Europe faces major challenges in the long term. The global economy has undergone major technological and political changes in recent years. No country in Europe has felt this as clearly as Germany, where the economy has been stagnating for a long time. Mario Draghi's recently published special report on the competitiveness of the EU shows that there is an awareness of the problem at EU level. |
