Trendovník: Zachrání spalovací motory syntetická paliva? Jaká jsou jejich pro a proti?
Členské země EU se definitivně dohodly na regulaci emisí CO2 pocházejících z nově uváděných osobních a lehkých užitkových vozů na trh. Průměrné emise nově uváděných aut na trh u dané automobilky (či skupiny automobilek) budou muset do roku 2030 klesnout o 55 % proti hodnotám roku 2021. A v roce 2035 budou muset být nulové.

Po tlaku Německa, ale i Česka byla zařazena do regulace jedna výjimka. I po roce 2035 bude možné prodávat v EU nová auta na spalovací motory, ale jen v případě, že budou využívat syntetická paliva, označovaná také jako e-paliva.

Syntetická paliva vznikají chemickou reakcí – nejčastěji je nutné nejprve elektrolýzu vody vyrobit kyslík a vodík a následně vodík sloučit s CO2. Aby byla bezemisní, tak je nutné využívat obnovitelné zdroje elektřiny. Jejich spalování je pak výrazně čistší (bez síry a uhlovodíku) a pokud se využije odpadní CO2 nebo se zachytí ze vzduchu, tak jde i o uhlíkově neutrální palivo.
